Webcam site attracts thousands
VISITORS to the Hawick webcam in Central Square almost doubled last Thursday and Friday.

While daily visits have been in the region of between 100 to 422, Common-Riding week saw a huge influx of people logging on to catch a glimpse of the celebrations, with the number rising to a staggering 841 on Thursday and 792 on Friday. For the entire week, there were 1,366 visits from people in the United States and 957 from United Kingdom residents.
One visitor was Debra Watters – the wife of exiled Teri Brian Watters, who both live in Jakarta, Indonesia. She wrote to camera owner Hamish Smith. “I’ve just watched the procession on my internet and want to thank you very much for your webcam service.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and had a good look around the High Street too,” she said. Mr Smith, whose camera sits outside his jewellery shop, said: “I’m delighted with the response that it’s had.” Check out the Hawick Webcams - HERE
