Webcam proposal garners yes response

An Auburn University student proposed using a campus web cam in Samford Hall and a spray-painted sign.

After dating for more than 4 years, an Auburn University couple decided to tie the knot Tuesday after 25-year-old Brandon Maharrey spray-painted a giant “will you marry me” sign and stuck it on Auburn’s Samford Hall, then asked his girlfriend to log on to the AU website, where the sign could be seen on a webcam, the Opelika-Auburn News reports.

Fiancée Tasha Crawford, a former Auburn psychology student, said yes after she logged on the website and Maharrey popped the question. “She’s the love of my life, and I wanted to show her that,” Maharrey, a Chatom native, told the Opelika-Auburn News.
