The Motion Sensing Webcam

Put a webcam in any location that is important to you, connect it to the internet and you have you very remote controlled CCTV. The user will be able to use the controls to tilt the cameras lens up and down or from side to side giving the user the complete range of movement.

This is ideal for security issues, imagine catching someone red handed, calling the police and seeing them arrested for breaking into your home or business.

Features of the handy remote and motion controlled webcam:

You can set the camera to automatically send notification to your personal e-mail account when it detects motion, or you can view real-time video and control the camera manually from a remote computer using the included software. The camera captures 640 x 480 resolution video at 30 frames per second and has a 4X digital zoom, ensuring crisp pictures. A built-in microphone records sounds from up to 20′ away. Includes software for controlling the web camera and a USB cable. Requires Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7, and a high-speed Internet connection for real-time video.

For examples two remote-controlled webcams, maintained by the Division of Information Technology of University of Wisconsin and mounted on the roof of the Computer Sciences and Statistics building, document progress of different construction sites on campus. The top webcam records Phase I construction of the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, a location pictured at the bottom of photograph. The bottom webcam view documents the soon to start demolition and rebuilding of Union South.
