Downtown goes live with webcam Jacksonville Main Street

The final switch has been flipped on the Journal-Courier’s downtown webcam, which provides visitors to the newspaper’s website with a real-time look at the city’s square.

The camera is mounted atop the offices of Jacksonville Main Street. It provides a panoramic view of the work continuing as part of the city’s downtown revitalization project. The extensive effort is expected to continue through this year.

“We are very happy to finally bring our downtown webcam to our viewers on myjournalcourier.com,” Journal-Courier Publisher Kent Kilpatrick said. “We had a lot of comments about wanting to see what was going on downtown with the square renovations, so this was the best way to bring it to everyone.”

The high-resolution camera is available around-the-clock. In addition to the webcam, the Journal-Courier has a blog dedicated to the downtown revitalization. No additional software is required: Check the live webcam and more webcam from Usa
