BP Oil Spill Live Feed Normal Scrubbing Operations and Cap Test Continue
BP Massive Oil Spill Live Feed. Currently BP is still working close and hand-in-hand with the National Incident Commander under the Federal Government of the United States to finally complete the cleaning operations and test the current containment cap as well as the containment operations. However, due to Tropical Disturbance Bonnie that hit the Gulf of Mexico all BP operations was suspended temporarily until the weather became normal. All of the ship that was hired for the operations was already put back in place to finally complete the oil spill cleanup.
In other news, the success of the Oil Cap that is already in place in the gusher is still being debated and being reviewed if it could hold the immense pressure this oil is pushing worsen by the depth of this leak. With this cap already in place, BP suspended its containment operations as the test to the Cap is still being made.
Currently the result of the test is that the pressure of the gusher is pushing some 6,000 psi of pressure to the cap and still going up. All containment system are on standby if this Cap would go off.
Furthermore, an oil skimmer was signed up to help in the removal of oil slick that are now floating in the sea surface. The whale skimmer arrived to participate in the clean up operations that the BP initiated some 2 months ago. The oil removal is still far from over and BP is continuously flaming other parts of the sea floor to expedite the removal of oils spill.
The disaster that is now considered to be the worst in US history and could even be considered as the worst in the world is still far from over. The ongoing effort to stop this environmental disaster is still distant. But based on current estimation the oil containment already reached 435,600 barrels of oil and oil flaring already removed some 52.9 million cubic of this slick.
Currently, about hundreds of species of wild animals are at risk due to this incident and damage to the ecological system of the Gulf of Mexico is lasting. The fisheries which is the main source of income for most of the resident of Louisiana were gravely affected by this event.
The British Petroleum company is doing all its best with the help from the US government to contain the situation and start with the rehabilitation effort. The US government put the responsibility over BP for all the cost clean up and restoration. This disaster could have been prevented only if all the measures were strictly observed.
